6th September, Hong Kong: National bowlers, Michael Mak and Milki Ng will represent Hong Kong at the 51st QubicaAMF World Bowling Cup in Las Vegas after winning the final leg of the Regional Selection at Dragon Bowling, Ho Man Tin Bowling Sports Centre.
Mak, who topped the two-days 16-games final rounds with 3389, needed a second match to defeat challenger, Tony Wong. Wong took the first match, 202-176 but Mak bounced back brilliantly to overhaul his opponent, 201-166 to emerge as champion.
Wong, who finished second to Mak in the final rounds with 3370, defeated third-seed, Wicky Yeung, 203-170 to advance to the championship match. Yeung was third in the final rounds with 3362.
Three-time Hong Kong Open champion and 2014 Incheon Asian Games Masters silver medalist, Wu Siu Hong missed the stepladder by 57 pins after finishing fourth with 3305 while Ken Lin rounded out the top 5 with 3250.

The champion topped the first leg on July 12 and the third leg on Auguest 9 before the finals. This will be Mak's debut at the QubicaAMF World Cup which will be held from November 13 - 20 at the 56-lane Sam's Town Bowling Centre in Las Vegas, USA.
Meanwhile, national bowler and second-seed, Milki Ng beat top-seed, Joey Yip twice to emerge as champion in the women's division. Ng edged Yip, 186-180 in the first match to force a deciding second match.
Ng breezed through the decider, 242-139 to earn her right to represent Hong Kong at the QubicaAMF World Cup. The champion also sailed past third-seed, Carmen Tang, 213-135 before facing Yip in the final match.
Yip topped the 16-games roll-off with 3217, a comfortable 107 pins ahead of Ng in second with 3110. Tang finished third with 3105 to earn the final stepladder spot while Chan Shuk Han missed the cut by 28 pins with 3077.
The top three winners of both the men and women division were awarded prizes by Ms Vivien Lau, BBS, JP, Chairman of HKTBC, Hon. Life President of ABF and secretary general of Worrd Bowling.
